Yes, its through the autoprom, weird that it reads fine during data logging, just doesn't record properly. I wonder if the there is a mistake in my adx not allowing the aux channel to record properly, or perhaps you can't record from an aux channel?
I looked at my ECM, pin D8 is occupied, but D9 isn't. Can I use D9?

Re: 'FIRST' intake 383 tuning help

I'm skeptical about pin D8 being occupied. Yours *should* be the exact same ECM as mine...

As Orr suggested, try exporting the data and viewing it in excel. That may tell you whether its not recording right, or just not playing back right.

I will try to open it in excel, see what that tells me.

If there is only one D8 , I am sure it is occupied, I looked and looked, it has a green wire going to it. I will take another look tonight. 'Just' incase!
Thx!

Re: 'FIRST' intake 383 tuning help

according to the wiring diagram for the 86 maf stuff, D8 and D9 are NOT used so you shouldnt have a wire there. 87-89 should be similar

Re: 'FIRST' intake 383 tuning help

i checked the ecm connector, and d8 is clear, not sure what the h33l I was looking at when I last looked.
I just need to go out and find a terminal now, and try it this way.

Re: 'FIRST' intake 383 tuning help

I have a terminal!
Its all wired up, and ready to go. I have an arapWB bin ready to go but it is now outdated by my newer bin. How do I copy everything from my working bin over to the arapwb bin?

Not sue yet!

I bought the innovate MTX-L, so it needs to be configured. I should be finished later today.

Re: 'FIRST' intake 383 tuning help

Just getting into the adx file for the WB data logging through pin D8.

I am using these ADX settings from another adx file, I am not getting a reading on tunerpro however.
Does this look right?

Re: 'FIRST' intake 383 tuning help

Try logging with the .adx provided with the ARAP-WB download.

The most important part of the datastream definition is the packet offset. If that's right, and you're running the ARAP-WB bin, and your wideband is putting out the right voltage range, you should get a number on your tunerpro dash, even if the equation and labels aren't entered right.

I just tried with a fresh arapwb bin and the adx file that it comes with, still stuck at 7.35 with no movement.
Wb is suppling up to 5v, so i know the voltage is there.

Everything seems to be in place, but no go.

Its obvious I made a mistake somewhere, just have to find it!

What are your packet settings?

I'm not sure what mine looks like... I'm not near my computer, and I haven't looked at tuning stuff for a month now, its been all transmission stuff

Maybe you have the wrong output wire hooked up to the ECM? I know on mine, the color coding on the wires was really confusing, and I had to pay really close attention to which wire was which on the gauge and the controller. Seems like that fancy new wideband you got would be simpler than my old outdated LC-1 though

i am not overly concenred about right now anyhow, I can still see it on my laptop during the run, and on the gauge it self, I know i am in a good spot with the AFR.

Did you not get your trans redone?

Ahh, I thought you weren't getting the reading through the ECM, not just the issue with log playback... If its kinda the same deal you were getting with your LM-1, it would indicate a problem with Tunerpro itself. You might try reinstalling the software.

I just got my trans put back in on Friday. I have to trailer it to the trans shop tomorrow to get the warranty validated, and then it'll be back on the road. I'm gonna do all the PE tuning I can without a dyno, and then work on that mid-throttle acceleration lean spot/knock retard problem I've got.

When I connect it through D8, i get no reading other than 7.35, I went back to autoprom route which allows me to see it, just not record. I posted the problem in the tunerpro forums, see if anyone picks up on it.

I hope the tranny works out for you! We all seem to be chasing the same mid throttle accel lean spots. I solve it by by-passing mid throttle, and just go WOT instead!!

if your careful you can watch wideband and rpm at the same time No need for logging.

Oh I know, that's pretty much what I have been doing. Its just that it would be nice to use the capabilities of the equipment.

I have also used my wife to video the screen while I drive! Problem is keeping her hand steady when i drop the hammer, lol.

Re: 'FIRST' intake 383 tuning help

Does anyone here know the best table/scalars to hit for some rpm hanging during cruising speed?
This usually happens as the engine gets warmer and warmer, i start seeing some higher than usual rpm that acts as a cruise control, and doesn't settle off until I am stopped, even at that point it hangs from time to time.

All mechanicals in TB are good, no sticking throttle blades, IAC is new.

I would like the responsiveness that I see when the engine is cooler. Should i be looking at the dfco scalars or the stall saver settings?

What indicators should i look for that might point me in the right direction?

Re: 'FIRST' intake 383 tuning help

Update:
I tried using an older wb.adx I had here.. Low and behold... the wideband through d8 of the ecm works now! I wish I knew exactly what caused the problem but i was changing a few things around at the same time ( I know) one change at a time!
I think the issue was in the dash, I had the setup correct all along but it just did not display properly.

thx for the help

Re: 'FIRST' intake 383 tuning help

Does anyone know where the location of the Throttle follower(s) are in $6e mask. The only T/F i see is the 'IAC steps added to TF in drive', so it looks like this value is added to another table, but where is the main TF table or constant?
I am trying to settle the speed of the engine during an off throttle coast.

Thx RBob,

I am not near my tunerpro until later this evening, but I don't think these are in any of the expanded adx files. Seems to me that these are important tables to have exposed for adjusting/tuning. I will take a closer look later today.

Thx

Odds are you will make good use of it. Tuning the throttle follower (TF) adds a lot of driveability.

Same with the TCC lockup (if used).

Its going to take many small changes.

Displacement doesnt have much at all to do with spark advance. Much more important are things like head material and design, compression ratio, and fuel type.
