Why rich idle?

Idle at 12.8/1 OL on WB commanded at 800 rpms, idle is at 800rpms in log. Locked synch. 1.7msec. 38 MAP. All is steady. IAC varies 0-5 steps. SA locked 19deg.

EBL-ECU

80 lbs inj at 23 lbs with VAFPR showing 13 at idle.

BPC is 83 at 0 VAC and 104 at 60 VAC and 108 at 65 VAC. Calculator
showed 60 VAC at 106 and 108 at 65 VAC. Calculator was provided by Dominic S. and I believe to be accurrate. I chose to reduce BPC at idle VAC to deliver less fuel hopeing that would help. I will do a confirm with MightyVAC next week. I also reduced L03 OL/RPM/VAC table leaner by .50 so it is 15.3/1 at idle RPM/VAC as well as surrounding cells.

I think the fuel flow is overwelming ECU ability to control A/F at idle? Is inj at the minimum as far as PW? Exhaust does not show rich.

Re: Why rich idle?

I think the PW is still ok regarding control. IIRC, 1.2msec is the lower limit. I found 10psi to be fine for idle on my Xfire w 20psi at WOT providing enough fuel flow to keep 80psi injectors at 75% DC.

Re: Why rich idle?

I negl;ected to mention recently I went from 20 lbs FP to 23 as the DC hit 90% in 2nd gear of four WOT at 5500 rpms.

I just multipleid my OL RPM/VAC A/F tables by a factor to add or enlean about .30. So 14.7 is now 15.0/1 commanded. I will look at WU logs top see if msec has changed. I did not have chance to witness A/F idle on WB on ride to office today.
