Noob EBL Tuning question
I've been reading the threads in the guide sticky trying to pick up this tuning experience, but I have one super basic question. It seems that I want to START my tuning by getting my idle as good as possible. With an automatic transmission, do I tune from datalogs in Park, Neutral, or Drive? I guess I would assume I'd want Drive, but should I be paying attention to what the egine is doing in Park and Neutral too? After the idle is done, I have to take the car out to datalog, right, I can't start tuning some of the RPM ranges in PARK or neutral because there is no engine load, right??
These sound like pretty dumb questions even to me, but I just want to make sure.
Thanks

Re: Noob EBL Tuning question
In Intro to Tuning part 2 I believe there is a startup routine shown. If you use the suggested EBL.bin that matches your set up it should run decently. some will say you should start at WOT(DC or WB) and set that required fueling first(FP or inj size). A short stab of PE will show where you are on fueling. I did not do that. I just started driving around my home and grabbed some data. If I found my PE needed work later I would need to spend addtional time retuning as it affects other areas.
This is preEBL. I saw trends of BLM and adjusted those cells and blended in the surrounding ones. BLM should be mastered soon. AE may require more thought.

Re: Noob EBL Tuning question
Park & neutral will, in essence, be the same except gear indicator.
Either/or will do.
You will also (obviously) be recording data in gear, from idle up.
Have fun!
