Injector size and Initial timing settings.

I have the 730_8D and AXXF for my pure stock 91' 305 auto.
I have the Ford's yellow injectors rated at 19# @39.1. The original injectors for my motor are rated at 19# @43.5. My gauge shows me a psi of around 42 when it's at operating temperature. That yields about 20.4#.
Questions:
1. Should I make an adjustment in the .BIN file? Idle hunts 600 - 750. Vac steady 18.5.
2. Where? Is it Scalar: Injector Flow Rate?

The timing is set to 6*BTDC, Tan/blk wire open.
3. Where in the file do I check to make sure it's the same. Is it Scalar: Spark Advance Initial (Distributor Setting) ?

As always, in advance.

For #3, yes, that is the correct entry.

For #2, that looks correct.

For #1, here is the data for the Ford/Bosh fat (EV1) yellow tops:

Code:
Injector Data Sheet: M-9593-C302, 19 #/hr yellow tops, EV1

Fuel Pressure: 42

Minimum PW @ 42 psi: 0.886

Offset Compensation versus Battery Voltage:
   6.4 Volts: 3197 usec
   8.0 Volts: 1925 usec
   9.6 Volts: 1358 usec
  11.2 Volts: 1029 usec
  12.8 Volts: 795 usec
  14.4 Volts: 633 usec
  15.0 Volts: 574 usec*

Flow rate: 20.0 #/hr

Short PW Compensation versus Pulse Width:
 0.015 msec: -162 usec
 0.244 msec: -143 usec
 0.488 msec: -122 usec
 0.732 msec: -102 usec
 0.976 msec: -81 usec
 1.220 msec: -61 usec
 1.460 msec: -40 usec
 1.708 msec: -19 usec
 1.950 msec: 0 usec
 2.197 msec: 0 usec
 2.440 msec: 0 usec
 2.685 msec: 0 usec
 2.929 msec: 0 usec
 3.170 msec: 0 usec
 3.410 msec: 0 usec
 3.660 msec: 0 usec
 3.900 msec: 0 usec
Since the short PW compensation table can't have negative values enter all zero's.
For the offset compensation need to extrapolate from 14.4 & 15 volts to 16 volts and up in the table.

Do you have the Bosh and/or Ford part number for the injectors? And are they the older fat body injectors?

RBob.

Re: Injector size and Initial timing settings.

RBob - Mine are the yellow top with black metal body about 1" diameter. Casted in the yellow part is the oval Ford logo and FOTE-D5B. I have to apologize cuz I don't know what to do with the info you provided. I have to search the tables to look for something that looks like that. Your knowledge is amazing and I value your input immensely. Therefore I take my time to ensure I match the given instruction as stated.
Sometimes I'm too fussy being a retired engineer. Like when I looked at the "Cylinder Volume", the example formula is eng size in litres divided by the number of cylinders times 100. Therefore 5.7/8 = .7125 and .7125 x 100 = 71.25. But the constant for the 350 engine shows 712.5, which I understood then, the formula should spell out 1000 not 100. Is my train of thought on the right track?
I know it will never be perfect, but hey, I'm having fun learning 20 year old technology.

Re: Injector size and Initial timing settings.

Thanks for the info on the injector part number. Any chance the other side has a Bosch number on it?

For the data posted there is the flow rate for the injector flow rate scalar parameter (20 #/hr)

The compensation data, there are two table for those in the calibration. Just need to find them in the XDF file. The injector offset table is at $3FA. With the low PW table at: $40B.

I think you can do a parameter search in TP via the address. Actually, just tried something in TP V5. Open the hex editor (CTRL+H), then go to the addresses above.

If they are in the XDF it will go to that XDF entry. IOW, as you scroll through the hex display the XDF entries will be highlighted as that location is hit.

RBob.

{edit} A google came up with 280-150-556 as the Bosch number.

Re: Injector size and Initial timing settings.

RBob - the Bosch number you came up with is what's on my injector. Also, I did find the two tables in the locations you stated. Thank you. Now to input them in my XDF file.
