Hey guys, I'm having an issue with knock counts. I seem to always get around 5-6 knock counts when the car is in the 4700-5000RPM range at WOT. My converter flashes to 4500ish at WOT and is lean(mid 13s) for a fraction of a second(AE??) before going mid 12's AFR. The knock count seems to happen from a roll when the converter flashes to 4500 as well as when it shifts another gear and falls back to 4700-5000RPMs(5-6 counts)....From 5000-6200 I get 0 knock counts. I have the knock retard off in the tune...In the high load WOT 192-208 rows of the main SA table in running pretty conservative timing. 1800-2400(21.09*) 2800(26.02*) 3200-4800(30.23*). I'm only using the main SA table for timing and have zeroed the PE spark table. When looking at the logs it shows 30.23* at WOT pulls. The AFR is 12.5-12.7, I've had it richer and it didn't help with the knock counts. Also I do get a few knock counts on startup and shut down.

I have a few questions.

1. Should I be concerned with these knock counts?
2. In what TP5 table do I richen up AE and how do I do it?
3. Any ideas whats causing the knock counts?

anyone? I'm thinking of pulling 2*(going to 28.13*) in the 3200-4400RPM range of the 192 and 208 row of the SA table. Then leaving it at 30.23* at the last 4800RPM settings of 192/208 unless you guys think I should see how it reacts to some AE enrichment first?

 

safe bet would be to pull timing, add fuel, and put the spark back in and see what happends. when the afr's get into the 13's at WOT on my car i start getting knock. HTH
