EBL and MAP sensor install

Okay, I have been reading up on the EBL from dynamicefi.com and have chatted a little bit with Bob as well. After everything is set up it seems this is the easier one to work with for tuning. Now I do know that the plugs for the ecm need to be repinned but want I am wanting to know from the ones that have done it, how do you hook up the MAP sensor for a car that doesn't currently have one? My can is an 89 firebird formula 350 TPI with the MAF sensor. With hooking up the EBL, it make the car a speed density system so I wont use the MAF anymore but have to install the MAP. Any help from anyone is greatly appreciated. I dont have the EBL yet, just looking to the future. If this isn't in the right forum please move it, figured this would be a good place to start since it has to do with the EBL and tunning for the car.

Its all in the repinning guide. You will need a new plug end for the map sensor, they are available at most parts stores. Three of the five wires from the maf sensor plug will be used for the map sensor now, or you can run 3 new wires from the map to the ecm, again, the location is in the repin guide. Hope this helps.

Re: EBL and MAP sensor install

The MAP install is really easy. As said above, there is repinning done to be able to use 3 wires from the MAF. It was like a 20min job for me to get my harness ready, hardest part was finding out how to get the pins out at the ecm(there is a guide on his site to help). But once you get the first one it goes by MUCH quicker.

Re: EBL and MAP sensor install

To add some info on the MAP itself, the cowl mount, sensor, pigtail, and a vacuum line can be found on the following f-body's:

'88 - '92 TBI Camaro & Firebird
'90 - '92 MPFI 3.1L Camaro & Firebird

The '90 - '92 TPI Camaro & Firebird also have a MAP set up. These are mounted on the engine. But aren't found in the JY too often.
