Minimum % TPS enable PE

Just wondering what the correct value for the 400-3600 RPM settings in "Min % TPS enable PE" my cueent bin has 70.31%, seems high and in "Min% TPS enable PE (hot coolant)" See my value at 400-1200 is 50% which seems ok, but 2000-3600 value is 14.84% which seems way early??
Would it be better if I had all these RPM value set to 50%??

Personal preference I had my TPS PE set around 25-30%. You want PE by the time you are in 90-100 KPA area.

would that be about the same for a '165 6E code? because mine is set to 70% and i haven't touched it

The hot PE threshold table is for an engine that is really hot, say 116*C (241*F).

So if I follow you correctly BobR, the car will be only referring to the "min% tps enable PE" table under normal running temps. Under that table it won't activate PE until 70% tps. My car shouldn't ever use the hot min% tps enable PE table being it doesn't run over 180*?

To be sure check the CTS threshold for which table to use:

Code:
L8602:	FCB	209 ; USE TBL L8608 IF COOL = or GT (116c), (244F)

My datalogs had an overlap of AE/PE at 50% TPS-PE. Result was I was overly rich for PE. I have my AE filters set very low to allow AE early and duration longer. Which may have contributed to overlap. So I moved them to 70%(varies a bit due to RPM modifier) and now PE is where I like it 12.5/1. My datalogs of Innovate WB also clearly showed the double spike and seperate AE TPS/MAP events followed by the PE.

Re: Minimum % TPS enable PE

BobR, I'm kinda clueless what this means.
L8602: FCB 209 ; USE TBL L8608 IF COOL = or GT (116c), (244F) ??
I really dont understand how to find things in the bin using code. I just go through the tables. Anyway I understand you saying that the (hot)min%TPS enable PE tables wont come into effect until the engine reaches 241*F. So with that being said my concern for the most part would fall to the "min%TPS enable PE" (not hot) table. I went back to the 70.31% settings in all of those RPM ranges, with the understanding that will keep PE from coming in until the TPS is at 70.31%....Thanks
I also returned the stock numbers to the hot table even though my car doesn't get that hot.

Re: Minimum % TPS enable PE

I would lower it to what you feel comfortable with and then datalog and see what your BLMs and INTs are and go from there (actually.. in PE you can't see that it will stay at 128... You're supposed to see the voltage going to the O2 sensor and it should be at 900mv I think which is a good AFR for WOT)

Gotta be careful there. Using a narrow-band O2 for WOT AFR is very sketchy. You really need a wideband to know where you're at. Just becasue the narrow band reads 900mv doesn't mean the actual AFR is anywhere close to that.

I've tuned both my 383s with MAF and 165 ECMs. I keep the PE enable at 70% throttle. I used to run the PE enable at 50% throttle, but when going down an on-ramp or something where I'd squeeze the pedal a bit, not getting on it hard but wanting to go, my wideband would go stupid rich because it was going into PE when I didnt need it. In other words, the PE would enable when I didnt need it causing a super rich part throttle condition. I've found 70% to be a really happy medium. I can wade into the throttle pretty far and still keep a 14.7 AFR under heavier load, but when I go WOT I've still got all my PE fuel. I no longer have that in-between situation where I was not at WOT but got all my PE fuel and had a rich condition.

Like I said, I like 30-40% MAX, if its diving super rich adjust the PE air/fuel ratio tables for PE.

I could be mis-understanding you, but that doesn't even come close to working with my setups. For example, if I go into PE at 50% throttle at 3k rpm, it goes WAY rich. Like 11.0 afr rich. Those exact same PE and AE settings at the same rpm going full WOT get me 12.4 on tip in and 12.8 at 6k rpm when it's time to pull the stick.

I'm missing something, tuning wrong, or my setup is just that different.

By the way my SuperRam'd 383 in the GTA acts the same way if I enable PE at too low of a throttle angle.

I have a stock throttle body and that is where mine reaches 85+ KPA even with my 383. 30-40% running 3,000+ RPM. Anything above 50% throttle is the same power, just raises the shift points. I am making 382 RWHP and 425 RWTQ through a 700r4, 2 piece driveshaft with carrier bearing, and a GM 9.5" ring gear 14 bolt corporate rear end with 3.08 ratio.
