EBL launch mode
EBL launch mode
I believe I looked at it seriously for the fisrt time today.
I see no flag/switch to enable it so I will assume it is on unless you place values to 0.
I see I am at 2.1sa <2200 rpms and 1.05sa <2600 rpms.
My car is relatively light at 3200 lbs(84vette).
At 1200 rpms(100MAP) I am 16 SA and ramps up to 33sa at 6000rpms and add in PE of 2.1. In first gear then I am total of 37sa in PE. 3.07 gears.
Anyone see any benefit to upping LM over 2 deg sa?
Also I am in LM only 1.9 secs. seems it could be longer?

Re: EBL launch mode
if it's anything like the launch mode used in the MPFI V6 stuff, you could also use it as somewhat of a traction control device as well, just have to have a bias that will allow spark change to be negative.
i tend to deal with "underpowered" 3300-3400lb cars, and you can feel when you push just far enough on the throttle to know that you hit launch mode, the extra little kick from the engine is quite noticable. i'd say as long as you don't run into knock and can feel a positive change, go for it. if you notice no change, knock or even a drop in power, take it back.

Thanks Saar. I think I will up it one deg at a time and see how it goes. Seems it should be in effect more than 2 sec? My car does not develop TQ until the rpms climb up to around 3600 so a bit more may help launch. 315/35/17 tires grip pretty good. N20 does not come on till 30 mph 3600 rpms.

i'm almost in 2nd gear after 2 seconds, so for me, it's pretty much a 1st gear spark adder/remover.
you may be able to benefit from more time in it, but i really wouldn't know, i'm used to FWD, ~160HP, 3.33 gears, ~2100 stall.

Re: EBL launch mode
I am going to monitor my time in 1st gear of 4 manual in a datalog. seems going from 2400 disengaging clutch getting tire spin then planting foot to 6000 rpms takes over 2 sec with 3.07 gears. I will know soon. If it is over 2 then I presume I change that parameter to 2.5 or 3 or what ever.
I believe that table to be an adder of SA. Not sure isf a neg number could be used in table?
