Correct PROM for 89 TPI Auto Trans 3.27

The PROM itself has a sticker with "Delco APYU 3516" that I can see through the hole in the blue carrier. Is that label the correct label for this car? THE ECM is a 165.

Someone mentioned if the prom had been erased then the sticker would have to be removed for the UV light and that would ruin the above sticker. Is this correct? It sure doesn't look like it has been tampered with around the edges.

Thanks in advance. Still chasing tail with this car...one day I WIll catch it though. I think I can; I think I can; I think I can.

The broadcast code apyu is correct for a 89 f-body tpi 5.7L 700r4 transmission, 3.27 gears, federal emissions.GM 16133476. it does take along time for just sunlight to flip bits but under direct uv light it take 10 minutes or less to completly erase the eprom.

Thanks again for responding to my posts. I swear I will figure this car out or die trying. This pretty much rules out a bad "tune" then I presume.

There rarly ever is a issue with the eprom it self . In the last 14 years I have only run across 2 that has any data loss and they bolth set a code 51. If you would like the memcal read and compared to a known good copy I would be happy to assist just for the shipping cost to help tou out.

I have a couple more things I will try over the weekend (vaccum hoses and fan switch wire). If they don't yield a fix I would appreciate just having you doing a bit check on it. I will PM you.
