If you use $8D just follow the '90 - '92 TPI f-body pin out.

What about $A1? Is that one any good? I want to run DIS also.

Re: MS vs. Stock ECm

Both $8D and $A1 can run DIS. Your choice as to what mask to use, you will be the one tuning & wiring it. Most likely the BFAW MEMCAL has an $A1 calibration in it. The MaskID will be at offset $08 in the BIN.

Note that Mask $88 can also be used. That is the stock '90 - '92 3.1l f-body BIN for use with a 700R4. So with a mostly stock engine it's a drop in.

Re: MS vs. Stock ECm

How hard is it to make $88 work with DIS? I just don't know which one would be the most similar?

Yeah, I'd use $A1 in that swap, it won't be perfect but would be a better start that $8D and get you up and running quicker. If later you feel you want to move to a different code you can, it's just that other code, that was originally for dizzy applications require changing of some of the timing settings in rather non-intuitive ways to work with DIS.

Easy, it is a matter of setting three parameters in the calibration. IIRC, there are folks running DIS on mask $88. Would need to check the V6 board here for who they are.

I just don't know which one would be the most similar?

Drew
Most similar to what? $8D was used in the '90 - '92 TPI cars. $88 was used in the '90 - '92 3.1l MPFI V6 f-body's. $A1 was used in a lot of the FWD stuff.

These are all SD calibrations (use a MAP, no MAF).

Re: MS vs. Stock ECm

So I was probably going to use $88 to start out because it is mad for a dizzy. I will then just change the wiring diagram to except a DIS system. I am having a little trouble though. The 7730 that has $A1 runs injector grounds on pins d6 and d7 but the 7730 that runs $88 runs the grounds on the ign pin a6. They both have the same pins (c11 ,c12) for the drivers though. I don't know which one I should use.
thanks

Re: MS vs. Stock ECm

Likely an error in the diagram. With any mask and the '7730 ECM:

D6 & D7 are the injector driver grounds (go to engine block).

C11 & C12 go to the injectors to drive them.

Are you planning on using the EGR system? And if so which one: vacuum or digital?

I am not going to run either. Pretty much barebones. Car does not have cruise. I want to also get rid of the evap too.

Re: MS vs. Stock ECm

OK on the EGR, which EGR can be used varies among the code Masks.

As for evap, I'd leave it in place. Unlike EGR it doesn't hurt and it will reduce fuel fumes. Which is really required if the vehicle is parked inside of a building. I've put evap systems back into vehicles that I've purchased with them already removed.

For the evap system? Only the CCP solenoid pin is used. The air select is used for the A.I.R. pump solenoid.
