ebl, THE RICH KEEP GETTING RICHER
I've been using the EBL VE learn function and comparing it to my Wideband display on the A pillar.
Even when I am seeing 13.2-13.8, the VE learn still wants to add more fuel making things pig rich. Hence the rich gettiting richer theory.S
I'm using BLM as my VE learn. The wise band was previously hooked up to the 7730 ECm when I was running the Prominator chip set, (which finally died) It was patched into the ECM on one of the connectors. The wide band is NOT currently setup on the EBL board via the Auxillary Sensor port.
So here's a few questions
Is the EBL seeing the wide band because of it's previous installation? or must it only go through the Auxillary sensor input post?
(Honestly, with the EBL thread being over sixty pages and growing it's tough to find answers that may already be there. Maybe it should be broken apart to become stickies for certain common areas of question.)

Re: ebl, THE RICH KEEP GETTING RICHER
The ECM follows the NB O2 feedback. If the sensor is reporting lean, the BLM will increase.
The two most common reasons for this is an exhaust leak or a sensor that is not up to temperature.

I found a muffler that was loose and nearly falling off. At decel, it was sucking air and so the NB was reporting lean. Fixed it, and EBL began taking fuel back out.

Re: ebl, THE RICH KEEP GETTING RICHER
Even though the wideband is already "hooked up" the the ECM, is the EBL not seeing it because it's not hooked up to the analog data inputs on the EBL board?
Is that the only way it sees/uses the Wideband data stream?

Dave, I hope you don't expect over 14 unless you are at idle or cruise, that's not how it goes. The engine requirements determine fuel necessity, not theoretical numbers.

Re: ebl, THE RICH KEEP GETTING RICHER
So the key of that was in my opening post.
Even though the wideband is already "hooked up" the the ECM, is the EBL not seeing it because it's not hooked up to the analog data inputs on the EBL board?
Is that the only way it sees/uses the Wideband data stream?

Re: ebl, THE RICH KEEP GETTING RICHER
My concern was that I was lifting off the throttle, expecting the car to go into DE or DFCO. And was seeing 12.3-13.8. Subsequent VE learns wanted to add more. That didn't make sense,as i was anticipating leanng out under DE or DFCO. Didn't see that happening
Gas mileage was at under 8 mpg, last check was over 10. Looking for non-right foot related causes.
Yes, at idle as well, (900 rpm 60 kpa) it wants to make it richer. Could be ECM still hasa choke hold on things.
I have not been in cruise yet. I turned it off to get fuel charts without it's intervention

I took the 20 MAP columun way down in value. Seems I am still at the same A/F you are. 13.3-13.8. May be a lot more manifold wetting to flash off that we are not aware of.

Re: ebl, THE RICH KEEP GETTING RICHER
Thanks guys, I appreciate all your thoughts.
Ronny, I'll do a data run tomorrow morning to find out. I'm sure everyone can appreciate that I haven't wanted to be distracted looking at the display while enroute. So collecting the data and replaying will help to see if the DE/DFCO square lights up green or not.
