87 tpi 165 computer running 6e.xdf
I adjusted maf first table til the wideband 02 sensors started reading around 14-16 afr. Which is fine but the issues is when I start to drive a few feet then it starts to run rich at 10 afr. Even when I stop and go back to idle it still stays at 10 afr flooding itself.
Here is what I have check. Car is in closed loop, The coolant, rpms, airflow, air temp, and tps all stay the same before and after I drive a few feet back at idle.
The things that change are load, 02, and pw. 02 seems to become erratic and load and pw rise. Why they would do that is a mystery to me since all the other sensors dont seem to have any issues and are reading how they should. What would cause load to rise if mat and maf have not changed?
I would like to know if anyone has any ideas why it does this also if there is a way to change a setting to keep it from running rich.
Thanks for any information you can provide sorry I wrote so much. I can add log i took of sensors from tunerpro rt version 5 if that would help. Just change the file extention from .txt to .xdl

My guess is it has something to do with IAC and throttle follower. I am not at a place I can look at the logs. Do the IAC counts increase and stay high? Also look for a drop in timing that never recovers. Also look at EGR enable parameters and disable EGR for diagnostic purposes. Finally does this car still have a deceleration valve still in place. I know the early manual transmission TPI cars had them and the later ECM code has the same effect via throttle follower with the IAC. Might plug the hoses and test it out. I had one on my q-jet fed 305 G20 van that started acting up and the engine would surge and lope and stall at idle.Originally Posted by anthonyjmarshal

Ill take a look into the iac but I thought they would raise the air flow which it did not show a rise in airflow. As far as egr it has been disabled and I do not have an egr. I have never heard of a throttle follower or deceleration valve. I doubt my car has either of those. Thanks for some ideas.

I figured it out. The settings on the aem o2 wideband were set to a linear output signal to the engine computer. I changed it to the right setting (P4) and it is running without any issues now.
