timing question

Hey guys,
I e only been tuning for a year and I can't find a good thread for info that im looking for.
So my car pulls really we'll in first and second...third gear is flat as he'll..im still a bit rich but I'll tune that out soon.
So my max spark advance is 32 degrees, and base is set at 10.. I know carb guys lock their timing out at whatever say 34 or 35 so when they shift into third is still at 35 degrees...
Mine however when it hits 3rd, RPMs drop to 3600 and timing drops down to27 so can I tune my max SA to come in around 3500? I haven't started on the timing yet but plan to this week and am looking to see what you guys do...it's a 350 with hsr and vortec heads with a can...check my sig for the specs..
Thanks in advance

Re: timing question

The RPM drop seems to be too much on the 2-3 shift. Is the TCC also being locked at this time? If so can up the forced lock MPH to stay in the power band.

As for the SA, as you say, whatever the engine likes.

RBob.
