Dakota digital Sen 01 1 8k ppm
I have this VSS and even though several threads here suggest it's 4K ppm (I did a search) it's listed as 8k by DD. Will it work if I change the vss input in the code to 8K ppm? If not I'll have to use the DD SG5 box that I have but I'd rather not since it makes for a lot less clean install.

Changing the PPM value in the BIN will work. Note that if this is a '7730 ECM and the VSS output stream is being used for the speedometer, that can't be corrected. It will show double the actual speed.

It's just for the VSS signal to the ECM, It retains the stock cable driven speedo.
I should have done mor research on this, a lot of people are using the adapters like this one and the one from tpiparts but it's jsut such a subway sandwich. I should have used the SC12 or SC11 instead depending on how many teeth your driven gear has (up to 39 or 40+) it's so much cleaner this way, and it's 4K PPM/4 PPR instead of this aftermarket thing.
I'll probably change it one of these days

Looks like it uses the snap on gears, not the one piece things. My 82 vettes had those steel shafts with the snap on gears.
