Using apx file help
hey eberyone,
I'm using the 1F$ apx file, I think, for my 2.8 V6 as recommended by the guy who made the aldl to USB cable for me. My question is, due to this being for a V8 motor will it mess up the tach reading on the computer in tuner pro or winaldl. The reading on my gauge and on the laptop are like 2000 rpm different with the gauge being much higher than the tach on the laptop.
Thanks in advance
Rich

Trust the scan tool data. The RPM conversion in the ALDL stream is cylinder count neutral.
Hit the electronics board here for how to fix the dash tach.

So so basically you're saying it doesn't matter whether it's connected to V6 or V8 it'll always display the correct revs?

Thanks RBob. I honestly didn't think the engine sounded like the revs it was displaying. It's ok about the repair tho as I have an external tacho going in. I read about these tachs going a little crazy hence why I asked. Thank you so much!

Thanks RBob,
i also confirmed it with my extrnal tach. It reads what the laptop reads so I now absolutely know it's my dash tach that is wildly out!
Thanks for for all your help!
