0411 Swap troubles with startup - backfiring on 1st, 2nd attempt starts

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone can weigh in on my current problem.

My 0411PCm SBC400HSR '85 TransAM is finally on the road and registered, and I'll be taking it to the dyno in the next few weeks, but I'm driving it around now just to wear everything in and make sure nothing overheats or explodes before putting it under stress.

The tune in there is pretty good with only a few flat spots, but the problem is that when I first start the car, it either doesn't pickup, or coughs, splutters and backfires.

I turn it off, back on, and it fires up within a second.

I've heard the 0411PCMs will set the timing at +180 degrees if it doesn't fire up on ignition, but I wanted to confirm this before I go and turn the vortec dizzy 180 degrees, because at the moment it's working well except for this issue.

The main problem is I have a remote start system on the car as well, so having to cycle the ignition becomes annoying. Plus it can't be good for the engine firing out of sequence.
