PE when in open loop?
PE when in open loop?
My data seems to indicate that when in open loop, PE will not engage even if you meet the criterion to enter PE.
I use SAUJP's open loop idle function and set it to 1500 rpm.
When I go WOT from a standstill the data seems to indicate that I don't engage PE until after 1500 rpm. My PE criterion is 60% TPS and 50 kPa, which I easily meet coming off the line like that.
So is that how the $8D code is set up? That PE is only available in closed loop?
And that my WOT AFR below 1500 rpm is actually controlled by the OL AFR?

Re: PE when in open loop?
PE mode isn't dependent upon being in open or closed loop (stock AXCN here). There is no check for this in the PE code.
There is a check late in the routine that does check if the ECM is in open loop. If so then the calculated PE AFR is compared to the open loop commanded AFR. The ECM uses whichever one is richer.
The stock ALDL stream doesn't have the PE mode bit in the data stream. This could be changed as it is an handy flag to have available when tuning.
RBob.

Thanks! That's great info.
The SAUJP tunerpro xdf/adx files do output the PE status. That's prompted me to ask this question...it seemed that PE wouldn't show as engaged below 1500 rpm.
