Now that we are down into the 40's I'm having trouble starting first thing in the morning with the EBL on my 86 TPI Trans Am. I have 24lb Bosch III injectors. Yesterday morning it was unable to start and I killed the battery trying. Had to take the truck instead. I increased the crank PW this morning and also the Choke AFR but it still acted pretty much the same. I did get it to start and run after cranking till the battery was almost flat again. Once running it was rough at first and cleared up after 5-10 seconds and was alright from there. Here's where my settings are at right now:
I'm not sure if it's too rich or too lean. I normally have the wideband controller switched off for startup as it's hard on the LSU 4.9 sensors. Reading some other threads I'm wondering if it's actually flooding rather than too lean. I did have to give it air to keep it going for a few seconds before it would idle.
Thinking on it - I'm thinking maybe I got it started after the battery was nearly flat since the reduced voltage probably calmed down the injectors. At the moment I'm leaning toward it being too rich.

Re: EBL - crank and choke settings for cold start.
You can zero the Prime PW table to eliminate its affects. During cranking the VE table at the 90 - 100 KPa & 400 RPM is used.
Holding the go-pedal down while cranking is a clear flood mode. Can try that to see if it helps after the initial cranking.
Since cold start is a once a day thing. Make 4 or so BINs with varying AFRs and flash into consecutive banks. Start with the leanest and if it doesn't start go to the next richer BIN.
Re: EBL - crank and choke settings for cold start.
I raised the Crank AFR in the lower temp ranges up to just below and tapering off very slightly from the 20 C range. So far no issues but the lowest CTS I've seen has been 52 F and the issues occured at about 41 F. When we get another cold morning that's in the 30's I'll report back
Re: EBL - crank and choke settings for cold start.
Just barely above freezing this morning and didn't have an issue. Windshield and t-tops frozen. Ambient was about 34 and CTS was about 37 on startup. Seems to be working just fine with the above changes.
