EBL Flash II SA Help needed
Re: EBL Flash II SA Help needed
did you make changes to the ve stuff wen making the swap? also how do you like the blueprint? i bought their shortblock, same as what you have, just afr heads and a diffeent cam, miniram etc. waiting on a few more parts and its going to the dyno.
i have a holley c950, but would still like t attempt to have the car tuned with the 7727 ecm if possible, the big injectors and miniram, along with long tubes and a 110 lsa cam seems like it may not be possible.

I will say that the injector calculation tool was a bit off for my engine for whatever reason. I think it recommended something like 128, by the time I was mostly done I had to up it to 163 iirc.
I do love my engine, although I am still chasing knock, probably false knock.
I would recommend getting the EBL. I was trying to tune on the 87 MAF ECM and it was a dog. EBL makes it so much easier, and helped me gain confidence in my tuning skills. Even better, I have never had any connection issues like I did with my old ecm and everything about the way the engine ran was drastically improved.
It is going to the dyno on the 11th of May for final tuning.
Feel free to pick my brain if you need, I would be happy to help with what I have learned.
Cheers!

If your engine was carb'd I wouldn't go over 32 degrees of advance. Additionally I read through the thread the Knock sensor for EFI cars is available at Rockauto.com it says F.I in the description. It is more sensitive than the carb knock sensor. Mine picks up the starter every time always counts 12. If I were you I'd try the Vortec head timing tables I believe that it's the 3006 or somewhere near there with the fueling you have now. I'm not a tuner by any means for EFI but always follow the rule too little is better than too much so I really would check to see if you have any points higher than 31 degrees advanced in the 800-3000 range. I've been doing my timing curve for 10 days straight now my idle likes to be right around 20 degrees my max timing is around 28 degrees advanced but I have Vortec heads and a shorter stroke. An engine like a 383 with aluminum heads should like 30-33 degrees advanced at w.o.t. at around 3000 rpm.

Also watch the engine masters season 4 episode 47 they have a 383 almost the same as yours and they show how to tune for timing.
