Sensors used during cranking

Hi

Iīve searched the forum but couldnīt find the correct answer. The reason is that I experiencing a rich start that I want to adress by taking fuel out. Or add air...

So, what sensors are used during cranking?

Some I know

CTS
IAC (maybe not a sensor)
TPS

Re: Sensors used during cranking

It varies according to which ECM/MaskID is in play. For your '87 the crank sensor (distributor), CTS, and TPS are used. The MAF is ignored until the engine is running (over 300 RPM).

You are correct about the IAC not being a sensor. It is controlled by the ECM by bypass air around the throttle blades.

Re: Sensors used during cranking

Thanks!

Itīs very good to know that the MAF is not used. That was one of my questions. Now I need to rule out problems with fuel pressure and ignition. Then I will try to make adjustments in the prom again
