L98 TPI stock timing

Hi
I m looking for stock, real at the crank timing table or at least idle and WOT timing values. I m using not stock ecm and want to get some references where to start. After searching i have found several tables but some of them seems to be off and i do not know if stock ecm makes same more calculations with these number for example will be distributor offset (6 degrees with stock placement) subtracted or not.
I have seen SA tables with idle timing from 7 to 24 degrees. Same with the WOT values from 30 to 40 degrees. I would be glad if anybody could confirm these values from stock car with timing light and EST connected.

Re: L98 TPI stock timing

Just look at any bin file in tunerpro

idle areas usually 20 deg total. The base timing is not subtracted from main table.
wot is usually 30-34 deg. ARAP bin thats popular for instance is 27 deg wot at 2000 rpm, 32 deg at 3200, 36 at 4000, 40 at 4400, 36 at 4800+.

i would not use 40 at 4400 lol not sure why gm did that. I would stay 34-36 max.

stock 91-92 L98 SAUJP is better
20 deg idle
Cruise areas 35-37 deg at 1000 rpm ramped up to 43-46 deg at 4800+. 30-50 kpa map
wot 24 deg 2000 rpm, 32 deg 3200, 34 deg from 3600 to 4400, 32 deg above that.

Re: L98 TPI stock timing

One thing I'd like to add, is that ARAP is for an aluminum headed L98.

And AUJP is for an iron headed L98.

Which is why the differences in SA.

RBob.

Yup. In my experience even 113 headed cars dont usually need above 36-38 deg at peak power. 40 seems excessive. They do like more cruise timing it seems

Re: L98 TPI stock timing

Thank you for the fast response. Really appreciated.

Made some diggings with the TunerPro and i think i found that SAUJP bin and xdf Orr89RocZ pointed out. There seems to be much more usuful information to use from factory calibration.
