Hey,
Im wondering if I have the correct knock sensor. I have the Dynamic EBL flash II and Im using the knock and ESC below.Knock sensor - 10456288
ESC. 16052401
I know these work together, but i dont know if they work with the dynamic ECM. Does it require 4 ohms or 100 for the knock signal, or is it totally dependent on the Sensor and ESC combo?
Also for the heck of it, the images below (total knock and average spark retard) represents a 20 min drive on my new motor. Should I just remove timing on those areas? Also, not sure whats up with the numbers in the 6000 RPM + area. Never took the engine that high!!
I didn't look up the sensor, but the filter is HKR, which is correct for a 5.7l SBC. The sensor should measure 100K ohms in resistance.
As for all of the knock counts, are they false or real? It is easy to get false knock which kills performance and mileage.
The counts at the high & low RPM are occurring at key-off. This is common as the knock filter powers down before the ECM does. So random knock is reported.
Do a playback of the log and you can see this at key-off.
@RBob@Tuned Performance Thanks guys. I did find that my exhaust was touching a heat sheild behind the cat and also No 1 cylinder plug wire seemed to have a short. was going from 120-0 ohms when i would move the wire. Im wondering if that misfire and exhaust was causing the knock counts. The misfire was noticeable in the car.
So I fixed the exhaust and bad wire and car is running better. I seem to have less knock counts now. This was also a much longer drive than the last photo I uploaded. Should I make the knock sensor less sensitive now? and how?
