Checksum values impact engine running?

I'm helping a member who's factory broadcast code is ANJF (an 8D Camaro very similar to AUJP). We have his car baselined pretty good on the ANJF-based bins.

However, I'm attempting to get him on to S_AUJP to enable WB Datalogging.

I've transferred all of the fundamental parameters from his ANJF based calibration over to the S_AUJP... spark, fuel, emissions parameters, and every other parameter I could find, except for the checksum values.

Could the checksum values affect engine operation? What's happening is the idle speed is erratic and bouncing around with the S_AUJP but very steady when he puts the ANJF back in.

When I go through and compare the bins in TP, I'm not seeing any differences that could be causing an erratic idle.

If you're saving the vin in tunerpro it should calculate and save the checksum, no?

Not sure what you mean by vin (as in Vehicle ID number)?

I guess what I'm saying is that all of these values are different between the SAUJP vs the ANJF... and can any of these impact engine operation?

Re: Checksum values impact engine running?

Just change chip code mask to AA instead of 8D

This puts you in a dev mode, where the checksum is ignored.
