General ECM question
General ECM question
i just swaped motors from a 305 to a 350, now i switched the PROM chips but what i want to know is do i have to swap the whole fregin ECM or can i use the ECM from the 305? please help
Depends on what ECM you're running. If it's the '165 or '730 no ECM swap needed, same piece runs either the 305 or 350. If it's some other ECM, post the part# and maybe someone will answer.
Assuming you're running TPI, here's a few considerations for ya:
Knock sensor needs to be swapped, supposedly they're tuned to listen for harmonic ranges specific to each platform.
Injectors also need to be swapped. If you run the 350 software it's configured for 22lb/hr injectors...your old 305 injectors are only 19lb/hr and it will likely run lean.
