Spare GM Memcal - which one?
I have an 87 GTA, 5.7L which I plan to run on the ARAP code. I want to remove the stock Memcal and PROM to use as a fallback in case any thing goes wrong with the modified EPROM.
I plan to buy a new GM memcal and modify it with a ZIF socket and EPROM.
My question is which GM memcal should I buy? An 87 5.7L to match the car I have or since I plan to run the ARAP code, should I buy an 89 5.7L GM memcal or does it make any difference?
Also, I believe GM parts direct is the preferred source for the memcal?
