PROM and ECM question we should clear up right now!

Hi all, I have heard so many different opinions on this subject, and I'd like to clear it up once and for all. On a MAF car, how long does it take the computer to relearn a custom chip after you install it? I have a fairly radical setup, and I currently have a Hypertech Thermomaster in my car and it makes the car run worse, but more powerful than my stock chip. I am getting a custom Fastchip and in spring I am going to dyno the car, and I wanna run all three chips head to head, back to back. Is that possible, or does it take alot of driving for the computer to learn the new curves? Thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I've "heard" that it takes about 20 minutes.

Hook up a scan tool that displays all the cells, and drive the car. When the BLs stabilize the ecm is done thinking about things. Depends on how the chip is set up, your driving style, and the cell parameters.

If your just looking for info about commercial chips, might call the vendor and see what answer he gives you.
