Is this too drastic of a move?

Guys,
I am having a heck of a time with the main spark table. I am getting knock and can't seem to get rid of it. I am convinced that some of it is false knock, so I spent another 80 bucks for the upgraded ESC module. This hopefully will address any false knock issues. I am running the ARAP bin and have the fuel pretty good 128 +- 2 across the cells and RPM ranges for cruise and idle.
I have read many posts on timing and think the ARAP chip has way to much timing. My question is should I just reduce all the high spots 40+ advance down to low 30s? Everything I read says to take your time and do not make drastic changes. I followed that advice with the fuel and it worked great. Can you guys give me a heads up on this timing issue. With the smaller cylinder size and CC heads (58cc) I would think that I wouldn't need as much timing to get the flame to propogate across the cylinder.
Once again thank you all for helping! :hail:

At the higher airflows, yes, back the down to say 32, and then work back and forth from there.
In cruise you can still run a bunch.
Often best performance is at about 28d with the small chamber AL heads, couple more degrees if Iron.

Thanks grumpy,
I will take the higher air flows down to about 30 then. And go from there. This should be done in the main spark table, which I believe on the 165 it takes into account the base timing of whatever its set at. For example main spark table showing a setting of 37* = base timing of 7*+ 30* andvance. Correct?
What should I do with the WOT timing curve? Leave it alone till I get the rest straightened out?
Thanks and sorry for being a pain!
