memcal questions

I just got a GM memcal in the mail and one question is what are the two little chips called. I got one for a 92 Z28. Also what is the thing that is over the two chips? Is for the knock sensor? Also it doesn't look like the ZIF I got from the tech article will work it looks like it might hit that thing above the two little chips. Has anyone had to modify whatever that is to get the ZIF to fit?

One's a netres, network resistor, the other is part of the knock sensor stuff, as well as the addition circuit board.
ZIF will fit, just things are real close.
