BLM, INT and hesitation
BLM, INT and hesitation
Well I got to do a lot of tuning and note taking and think I made some progress with my problems. Ive got a good amount of my blm cells to be close to 128, but with most concentrated on my cruising speeds while in 6th gear. This is without hiway mode envoked. I kept fp @38psi and finally ended up with inj constants at 41. I played with bat volt so idle was a perfect 128, but it idles now in cell 0, I know I read somewhere that cell 4 was for idle, but cant remember now. While cruising I also see my o2 sensor reading very low, double digits low, but blms, int, and even fine fuel are all around 128. Should I be concerned or is this just the switching. It will go from say 58 but then go to 850 all in the same cell with no change in blms, etc...
I had to mess with the MAF table 1 as well, but only changed the 1st 4 or so and just added 1 or 2 g/sec to each one.
Idle is good and so is cruising, but I have a nasty hesitation when First moving or comming to a stop and then moving. I really have to feather the gas pedal or the car will want to bog or die. I do see that BLM and INT change when I do this (more lean 136), but then recover at 128 within the few secs of hesitation. Could this be fuel related or maybe spark, or maybe both? Would increasing the spark help out this problem, or is there something else in the 6e bin that can be changed to help this out?
Any help, advice, or opinions would be appreciated
Thanks,
Joe

Im just a beginner also and mainly taking interest in your
because it is close to mine.
From what i do know a MAF car 165ecm should idle in cell "0"
a SD 730 should idle in cell "4".
Also your tip in hesitation is very popular w/mini ram users
but it can be fixed from what ive read.
mine still is not

Yeah, SD idles in cell 4, there's a setting for it (which I haven't yet been able to mess with.)
1987gta - Can you describe your procedure for adjusting idle BLMs using Battery Voltage Correction? Grumpy suggested it to me, but I don't know what kind of adjustments I should be trying. Do I adjust the whole table by a value, do I just adjust where the voltage sits? (13.8-14.2)

I forgot to mention that I am still using a 305 ESC, and remember someone saying that a swap to a larger motor with 305esc presented a hesitation. I do have a 350ks though, and replaced o2 with heated 3 wire. Should I be looking into getting a 350 esc?
Thanks
Thanks
As for blm @ idle using bat correction. Im using tunercat and I beleive the 2 that I adjusted were for 12.something and 14.2 or4 (not in front of home pc) But all I did was keep increasing these 2 #s until I got a nice 129 idle. I also messed around with MAF table 1, but just the first 4 and only changed them by adding 1 or 2 g/sec.
Good Luck

Wells MAF was a complete dud!
Ive been having so many problems after installing Wells MAF on car, but figured that I could get through with some tuning. I made several small changes and burned somewhere around 50 chips in the last 2 weeks. It wasnt a waste because I had the opportunity to learn how to actually make adjustments and see how they affected tuning. Too bad this was done on my new motor. Anyways, I put Stock MAF on, and made a run with a new chip. Made a few corrections, and after 3 more chips, I had something that was great. Im going to send that Wells MAF out for either a refund, or at least a new unit. I just wanted to thank everyone who helped me out.
Thanks again,
Joe
