96 vortec intake MPFI?

http://www.goautocenter.com/specials1.htm
I'm thinking about going to MPFI but I have to be different which means no TPI or LT1 stuff.
Does anybody know anything about the vortec intake? In the long run I was thinking about a whipple supercharger from a truck kit but mind you this is just an IDEA. No need to shoot it down right away (cough Grumpy cough).
I want it to suport around 300hp N/A, so I guess what I'm asking is if this intake would be a bottle neck?

Stock, the 96-02 vortec 350's were 255hp so I don't think it would be limiting you from making 300hp w/ the right parts.

But, it will be of a large low plenum / over the top medium length runner design, which isn't portable or shortenable unless the intake is 2pc. This long runner design is what Toyota is using on the Tundra V8, what the LS1 has, and what the '99 454 truck motors had. But, the rat intake is 2pc and the runners can be shortened.

So, if your goal is truck / torque, you might wanna go w/ it. If you're looking for more upper range, you may wanna recontemplate.

Jon, if it helps the stock Vortec intake is a two peice unit. The base is aluminum and the top is plastic. The base, when you take off the upper half, looks kind of like a crossfire intake with the top of it off. Now the runners are as long as the intake is wide and are open to the top as they turn upwards. The top cover is open even thought it was mad to look like the runners continue up and around but they don't. The cover is that way I guess for a large plenum area and it also hides the popit injectors and the spider like fuel lines the go to a centrally located injector pod that houses eight injectors. The throttlebody and mass air sensor are the same as that found on LS1's. The tb is round and big as is the MAS.

Thanks for the info. Anybody know the size of the injectors?
I might just take a trip down to the dealer and see if I can get some measurements. Also, would it be safe to assume that the 7730 is the ecm to use if I ever did try this intake?
My dad's got a 95 suburban and he wants the vortec versions. I'm thinking that I can convince him to keep the truck, get the sdpc2000 vortec head kit in a year or so. By then I hope to be able to afford a more radical MPFI system and I'll just slap this onto the 95 with the vortec heads and a roller cam. I'll just need to research the wiring and what would be involved with the swap.
Thanks again for the help.
Anybody know the height of the intake with throttle body?

Jon, I've got the whole setup from inake to ecm and wiring harness. Send me an e-mail and we can talk about it. If your dads 95 has the electric tranny, this ecm will control that too.
