Newbie questions
Hey all, I have finally joined the eprom writers of the thirdgen world and im pretty exited about it. The problem is that interpreting the scanned data is not as easy as I thought it was gonna be. Im hoping someone can explain some of the data that I got. I can email the .csv file to anyone willing to take a look at it. I am using craig moates software v8.45 .
I have an 89 iroc with a 5.7l engine and maf system. My questions relate to the blm and int's. I have read through the archives and think I have a pretty good idea of what they are, im hoping that you will tell me if this is incorrect.
From idle to about 1200 rpm the blm's are 154-156, and the int's are 132-134. I think the higher than 128 numbers indicate that im lean at the lower rpms, but the integrator is close to 128. How come the blm doesnt move down closer to the int?
It also doesnt make sense for me to have the car lean at idle but not at higher rpms. I am using the arap bin with a 2.77 rear and I started logging while the car was in drive already.
I dont plan on making any changes till I scan some more and get more consistent readings, but I was just confused by the blm showing lean below 1200rpm, but the int also reading slightly lean. I thought the int corrected for the blm being wrong so it seems like the int should be below 128. Im gonna stop now because this post is getting huge, sorry about that. Thanks for any info that you have for me.
Mike

I keep reading all the old post and finding lots off good information.
Here this will help
Values lower than 128 indicating an overly rich condition and the ecm leaning it, and values over 128 indicating a lean condition and the ecm will richen it. The BLM value is a "long term" or larger change and the INT is a "short term" or finer change.
