no power to starter

recently i've swapped my 87 305 cc q-jet into an 89 2.8, i changed all the wires/harnesses inside out when i went to start for the first time and a few after that she would start up fine, now that its been a raining a few days on and off and my car wont start, seems like no power to the starter at all, but everything else has power, i also replaced the started selenoid and traced all of my wires and all seem to be properly hooked up.........if it sits for a day and can dry out a little bit it will crank but then if it dies it sometimes it dosent want to crank again? anyone have any clue

Have to tested the solo purple wire to the solenoid to see if it's getting voltage when you're turning the key? Have you tried cranking the car in neutral? You could have a faulty/misadjusted gear selector switch on your shifter.
