OLD TOPIC BUT HELP! Guages
I have a 1984 Firebird with the 85 mph speedo and the gas guage which is really ugly and i wanted to change it to the 89 guages. is this possible? how much work would it take? and i f possible please explain in detail everything i need to do because i am going to get the gauges sometime next week.

Since the 89 speedo is an electric driven unit.. this might be of use to you.. http://www.angelfire.com/mt/psh/speedo.htm. The rest of the gauges shouldn't be far off wired over the years but, I'm not certain about the harness connector wiring itself.
