mad as hell and the gauges still dont care

ok next chapter in this saga to fix a G@!%@%%& simple problem

so I accually bought the book for the wireing diagram to fix the gauges which dont work at all except for cable driven speedo.
anyway, so I pull each offending gauge one at a time replace the fuse they all function because the fuse will blow no matter what gauge is attachedthe only other thing on the circut is the temp. sensor so I try removeing it. however my thinking is that the electric wont even have gotten that far i go to put the fuse in and it blew before i started the engine which I had not noticed before
so ... I have no idea what it could be any ideas.
thanx

the first thing I would check would be the harnesses by the engine. Make sure they aren't resting on the manifolds or the block. If that happened it would cause a dead short resulting in your blown fuses. Next, trace the guage wires down one by one until you find the short. That will be the only way to find the short if you have already tried to isolate the circuit by pulling the guages.

Matt

Edit- you might want to check your diagrams first, but I think that your interior lights also tie into the same circuit. Just one more thing to check out

drive shaft

my friend works at a place called phpk technologies
as a metal fabricator he ran into some real light **** that he says was really strong so he stole me a pice of the pipe and helped me weld the yokes on then I took it to have it balanced honestly it was pretty easy. there is probably a correct way to do it that I dont know of we just eyeballed, it well sort of and got really lucky. if you try it I would really be interested in how it turns out.
