Code 33 & 34 Help!!!!

Hey Everyone,

I have been doing some searching on the board and couldn't find anything that really helps. My check engine light on my 88 Iroc with the 350 came on the other day and has been doing it constantly now. Once the light comes on it feels like that the car is alittle sluggish. I checked and code 33 & 34 come up. I know they have to do with the MAF & MAP sensor. ANy help you can give me to solve this without replacing the MAF sensor would be great.

Thanks

Hmm, You'd better replace the MAF sensor.

This is the whole reason I converted to speed density on my 89. look over the schematics and find the dark blue wire on the maf sensor. when you shut the car off you should get 12v at the wire for a few seconds. this is the burn off function of the maf. the 12v heats the wire in the maf and any trash or carbon that builds up on it gets burnt off and injested next time you start the car. this is the most common cause for problems with the maf and code 33/34.

My books at work(Autozone) show code 33 to be high voltage MAF. I just had the same problem, but for me , it turned out to be a crappy solder job by yours truly after gutting the MAF.
