Headlights/high beams

When you turn your headlights on, usually both the low beams and high beams are supposed to be on right, at least that's how I thought that it worked. On my car when I switch over to high beams only one of the high beams comes on and nothing else, but I think I might have one of the highs burnt out. Aren't the low beams supposed to come on also?

I just fixed a similar problem. When I turned my high beams on, only the left headlight would come on and the right one would remain off. But my regular beam headlights worked fine. Turned out that there was a short in the three-wire prong connector behind the right headlight. You need to take the headlight off and you'll see what I'm talking about. A new one is real cheap. Should be about $2-$4.

I had the same problem with my 89RS, the previous owner had the high beams and low beams reversed on the right side, switch them and bingo, everything worked
