MSD 6AL ?'s
I recently purchased a MSD 6AL ignition for my 88 IROC. I noticed that it makes a sort of buzzing noise which increases with the rpm. Is this normal? Also, where is a good place to mount this thing? Thanks

The unit itself? Or your radio or something?
You should get new 8mm spiral-core wires at the same time. My unit doesn't "buzz" that I've noticed, but when I hooked up the kill switch, it acted weirder than I would have liked so I left that option alone.
I mounted mine behind the driver-side headlight tucked between the cruise-control servo and the charcoal canister. Very, very nice location. Perfect distance from the battery *and* the coil so no wire lengthening or shortening was needed, it tucks in out of sight, and you can change the RPM pills right there (say putting in a 1500 limit if you have to leave your car at a shop to prevent joyrides). It also stays dry even in heavy rain.
I've also seen them on the pass. strut tower, on the firewall where the blower motor used to be (for those who removed their fan), under the plastic cover around the hood latch (in non-TPI Camaros). And one I saw was inside the dash where the computer is (lots of room down there on the passenger side, though I'd worry if the heater core ever took a crap)

I haven't noticed any buzzing noise from the 6AL on my car. Here's how I mounted it:

My MSD 6AL makes sort of a fish tank sound but it only changes frequency with rpm. IT is loud enough to here if it is mounted inside but not if it is mounted under the hood. I have owned two and they both made a little bit of noise.
My MSD 6-AL makes absolutely no noise whatsoever..
Heres where I mouted it:
