Smoking Ground on back of head
When I tried to start my car for the first time since the new engine was installed tonight, the battery acted like it did not have enough juice to turn the engine over. So when we tried to jump it the same thing happened, the starter would turn once and then nothing. Then we notice the if I kept the ignition switch turned foward, that the ground on the back of the block would start smokig right where it bolts to the head. What does all this mean? The heads are aluminum, do they not provide a good enough ground? Any help would be great

Check the large diameter wire ground connection from the "-" terminal on the battery to the engine block. It is probably a dirty connection, or not connected at all.
