Aftermarket cruise control

I've been looking at adding cruise to my carbed T5. Which would be the best route? I want to use the factory handle type controls (not the pad type). I also don't want the cheap ones that use a magnetic pickup on the driveshaft. I've seen some nice Dakota Digital systems but they are really expensive. Would it be possible to get a kit through the dealer? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can go to the dealer to get a factory unit ordered, but it will cost you an arm and a leg. Or,you can go to a reputable stereo/alarm shop that also does cruises and tell them what you want.Any shop that does cruise controls can get a factory style GM lever for the cruise control. When I do cruise controls for my customers,I ask them what style control would they like. And depending on the application, they range anywhere from $300 to about $375 for most aftermarket cruise controls, installed. And those are the good ones. At a dealership, you're probably looking at over $425.
