ok, here goes....my car won't start due to lack of spark.....it has had problems starting for the past week or so...already had a new fuel pump put in b/c that went.....so i'll come out to start the car...it will crank strong, fuel pump turns on...engine just won't turn over....then, eventually after a few minutes of cranking and stopping and so on..it will start.....finally today i checked the #1 plug wire.....no spark when cranking when it wouldn't start this time...then i checked the coil wire....no spark again......this time i think whatever it was totally went b/c it won't start back up.....so my question is....should i replace the coil...the ignition module...or is it something else??? please help!! car is an 88 Trans Am w/ 5.0L TPI

 

start with the ignition module. most autoparts stores can test the module, then my next step would be the pickup coil.
