Torque Converter lockup

I don't have a camaro but you guys know your crap so here goes. I put an aftermarket EFI system in my truck and I dont think my TC is locking up. Its still hooked to the stock computer and I thought by chance, it would still control the TC. How can I engage the TC automatically? What does the computer look at to decide TC lockup? Speed? Load?

It's a 91 s-10 blazer with a 350 multiport controlled by a Haltech Fuel and Ignition computer. It used to have a 4.3L in it and still has the 700r4 trans.
