Idle problem

Hi i've got an '86 Iroc-z with a 305TPI engine and I have a rough idle and I think it is something electric maybe. The car sat for a couple years before I bought it and it was running pretty rough. I put in new sparkplugs and that helped a lot then I installed a new alternator. It still runs a little off, mainly when I shift it out of park and come to a stop. The idle drops to about 750-500rpm. What could be making my engine have a rough off idle? I plan on puttin in a new distributor, rotor, coil, and spark plug wires soon - will those help me out here? What do you think? I have heard of things such as IAC but i'm not sure where or how to adjust it. Any help would be great

the computer automatically checks and adjusts your idle air controld valve(IAC) when you hit 45 mph or better. The TPS Sensoe could need adjustment though, along with you throttle cable. All easily done within an afternoon.
