Power window motors what to do........

Well in my '86 Firebird I can tell that the power window motors are slowing dieing but I've still got time on my hands before they ever go out completely. Well they are dog slow & was wondering is it possible to put Ford power window motors in my car? B/c they roll those windows up real fast in almost every car that I have ever seen.

You're not kiddin'! If there's two things Ford can make it's rear ends and P/W motors.

Makes up for their lousy power steering pumps.

But can it be done though? I've never looked at my PW motors or a Ford's PW motor either. So I don't know how big they are & such. Or should I just buy new GM motors? Thanx

I've read somewhere on this site that replacing the switches can help improve speed of the windows moving up and down. HAve you looked into to doing some lubricating? Im not sure if there are areas that you can lub it though. I've never taken apart my door yet. I lubricated my PLocks (to make them work with the keyless entry) with WD40 through the top of the door with the windows down though . Got the windows all greasy .

Shouldn't bother putting this but hey what the heck:
