i need to change my v.a.t.s ignition swith on my 90 camaro. i have the air bag and wheel off and have no clue how to get to the ignition. theres a bunch of plates in the way. no matter what i do nothing will budge. can someone please give me a step by step solution. i already have the new ignition but just cant get out the old one no matter what i do. thanks

 

most autoparts stores should have a "lock plate compressor" avaliable for under $20. the tool is required to work on general motors as well as chyrsler vehicles.

 

ok now i got everything off and the steering colum shaft is loose, how can i secure it so it doesnt move all around? the stock lock washer or watever its called is broken.
