VATS help

OK i havent found anything on this on a message board search so here goes....

I have an 88 GTA with digital dash. It has a VATS system in it. The car wont start on turn key because i dont have the key with the chip in it. I was wondering if someone would know where the VATS box is located in a Trans am GTA and how to by pass the the VATS. Any help please

I know this isn't what you want to hear but I highly recommend you bring out a locksmith to make you a new VATS key. It cost me something like $150 a few years back when I lost my keys. It's more than worth it! Twice since then I've come out to my car in the morning to find my steering column broken apart (and my alarm wires cut) by would-be car thieves. The only thing that saved my car from being stolen was my VATS key.

If you want to learn how to bypass it, look on my web page, here.

vats bypass listed substitutes a fixed value resistor in place of the ignition cylinder key contacts. starter kill relay, vats module & wiring are still left undisturbed.
