140 Alt?

Is there a 140 Alt. out there for our cars?

Yes. I haven't seen them pre-assembled but summit carries and 'iceburg' alternator rebuild kit in a 140 amp output. Try a car stereo specialty shop.

Yes there are several. The hi-fi stereo shops are one way to get them, but you can order from other suppliers on the net cheaper.
The "PowerLine" brand is one of the best ones that build for special applications like police cars & ambulance. They are very good quality and produce well over their rated amperage. Expect to spend $300+ on one, and they can also cost you around 20 horsepower while charging.
Best to run an alternator cutout when at full throttle to save the alternator from burning itself up.
Voltage regulators are slow to react, so going from idle to 6000+ RPM's engine speed (over 12000 for the alternator) will run very high current through the alternator and can burn up the diodes.
