TC lockup

I have a 91 RS Camaro a swapped the 305 to a carbed 355 and I was wondering where the aldl was at. I was also wondering if the Torque converter switch is really worth installing and when and how should i use it. I apprciate all your help and advise. Thanks

Yes it is worth it.
In my camaro it is good for a little over a tenth of a second E.T. and 2.5 MPH trap speed.
While racing I have it lock in 2nd and 3rd gear @4600 RPM triggered by an MSD rpm-switch. While not racing it gets a switched 12-volts and locks via a pressure switch installed in the tranny.

the RPM switch does the same thing a toggle would do, just always at a certain RPM for consistency. How good it works depends on how good you are at hitting the toggle at the right time.

I have no computer in my car at all. I use the black/purple wire that plugs into the transmission to power my TC solenoid.

Most ALDL's are near your right knee on the dash (while sitting in the driver seat). They have a flat cover over them to protect them. The small rectangular cover just pops right off.
Why would you mess with the ALDL? Better to take the TC control away from the computer. Have a tranny shop install a pressure switch for you, and tell them you also want the solenoid there for electronic control too.
