Does the alt. wiring need to be upgraded with a CS144?
I installed a CS 144 alternator from a caddy a few days ago. I used an old article from Chevy Hi Perf. to help. I added a resistor like they suggested. They also said to upgrade the wire that goes to the "bat" post on the back of the alternator to 8 guage. How much wire do I need to change to 8 guage? Down, to the starter then where and how far?
TIA

Just the wire from the back stud to wherever it goes. The other two wires stay the same. ARemember also that with that alt you will see LESS charge at idle. Just so you don't think you have a problem. The common tie point is the starter I think. Only to that point, the battery wire will carry back to the batt and is more than heavy enough.
