Technically, yes you do. The ECM will shut off the engine at approximatly 10031 RPMs. Will you ever see this before shooting a pushrod through the valve cover or sending a rod through the block? Probably not, but its what the PROM is set at.

The reason I said no, is because I'm not too sure that feature works in the ECM, GMTech. I reset the setting to 4000 RPM just to see it it works, and the engine revved happily up to 5500. So I don't really think it's functional. Hehe

Storm,

And just to muddy the waters a bit more, you also have a speed limiter. This is a required parameter in the ECM programming, and where "limited" cars had this number set at 118 MPH, the "unlimited" cars had this set at 255 - the maximum value that could be programmed into that parameter. If you get to the point where that becomes a problem, let me know, since I'd like to know what you've done to get that much power.

Blade, I have been wanting to try that myself, and the only reason I would see that it wouldn't work, is if you didn't set the resume speed low enough? I don't know. I know everything else I have done works flawlessly, like my cooling fans on at 190* and off at 180*, etc...
