On my 92 RS, my third brake light (top of hatch inside) keeps messing up....I noticed yesterday that it wouldnt light up......being the **** person that I am (I hate when peoples lights dont work!!) I opened up the housing and looked inside. The light was kinda loose....I jiggled it around a bit...checked it...and it worked fine....assembled everything back together...and it worked fine..........today...I drove it to school and home....when I got home tonight I checked it and it was off again.......pissed me off......anyways......my question is......how do I keep the light from becoming loose? This same lousy problem happened on my '91 Bird. The socket was cracking from the heat, and glue didn't seem to help, it just kept cracking into smaller pieces. Also whenever it got enough of a jolt to work, the power would arc from being loose on the contacts and it actually blew away some of the wire on the bottom of the bulb. I found a new hi-mount fixture in a V6 '91 Bird. It's still working, and the junkyard guy only charged me $10 for the dumb thing.
